Way back in 1998 when the Internet was still fairly infantile, I started this unOfficial Alumni Web Site in order to aid former students of SFS to reconnect with old pals. Before I did that, I contacted the school and suggested that they might consider taking advantage of new Internet technology to help bring alums together. They responded by saying that they did not have plans or the time to pursue such an effort.
And so, I launched into it myself. The result was that a fairly vibrant 'community' was born here. Hundreds of former students and former faculty members posted messages with news of their experiences since leaving SFS. People were able to find and connect with their old school mates, many times for the first time in twenty or thirty years. My objectives were realized, and witnessing the results of my efforts was extremely rewarding in a personal sense.
But as I said, that was at the beginning stages of the Internet. Since then, there are now numerous social networking sites which have implemented technology in much more advanced ways than this site ever did, or ever could. And SFS has stepped up to the plate and launched their own Official (finally) alumni site and even an alumni page on Facebook.
Which means that this site has out lived its usefulness and its purpose. And because of that, this site will be undergoing a deconstruction, of sorts. All the old messages will still be preserved, and the photos will remain, all of which can be accessed from the links below. But there will be no new content added here.
It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve this community over the years. Thanks to all of you who made this site worthwhile by your participation, and I'm glad that I was able to provide something which you found meaningful.
